Cross The Line, Let’s GO!
Hitching with GO-TRUK
Experience the thrill of long-distance travel across Indonesia’s islands — from the beaches of Bali to the urban bustle of Jakarta — by joining our Red Line Hitchhiking Program with GO-TRUK.
This isn’t an ordinary ride. It’s a journey inside the cabin of a long-haul truck, crossing Java through mountains, rice fields, and roadside warungs — guided by real Indonesian truckers.
Explore the archipelago by land! GO-TRUK occasionally offers free ride opportunities for foreign backpackers from Jakarta to Bali by truck — a rare, unforgettable experience across the islands of Indonesia.
🚛 What is Red Line Hitchhiking?
Red Line is a free cultural ride-sharing experience designed for foreign backpackers looking to travel across Indonesia in the most authentic way.
You’ll be seated next to the driver on a real logistics route — from Bali to Jakarta — usually covering 1,200+ kilometers in 4–5 days.
> 🧭 You’re not a tourist. You’re a passenger-in-disguise on a moving freight.
🚚 Travelling by Truck
Backpacking across Indonesia isn’t just about destination, but the journey itself. Hitchhiking Jakarta to Bali with GO-TRUK means joining our long-haul truck, covering over 1,200 kilometers of vibrant landscapes, local towns, and cultural shift.
GO-TRUK is a long-distance truck rental provider, specialized in project logistics and house moving services. We occasionally provide empty space on select trips for foreign backpackers looking for a different way to experience Indonesia.

This is not a commercial ride-share. You’ll join the driver as a travel companion — no payment, no tips required, just your presence and mutual respect.

🌿 Why Hitching in Indonesia is Unique
Unlike Western countries, the “thumbs-up” gesture isn’t used for hitchhiking in Indonesia — it just means “good”. That’s why hitching here isn’t visible from the roadside.
But as a foreigner (“bule”), your presence is welcome and often met with curiosity and hospitality. GO-TRUK just makes that easier — structured, safe, and soulful.
🏞️ Backpacker’s Perspective
Imagine sitting beside an experienced Indonesian truck driver, sipping kopi, and watching the volcanoes, rice fields, and coastlines roll past your window.
This is slow travel with depth, and an itinerary that only happens once.
So, if your heart is light and your bag is ready, let’s GO!
